PELLA, IA – Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI) has introduced a proprietary rubber compound used on their conveyor pulley lagging to reduce abrasion during the material conveying process.
With the primary function of pulley lagging being to provide traction to the conveyor belt, it also is often the prime target for wear on conveyor pulleys, leading to lost production due to maintenance and change-out times. PPI’s abrasion-resistant lagging has shown results of providing roughly twice the resistance to mass loss compared to traditional options.
This increased abrasion lagging is attached to PPI’s pulleys through a hot vulcanized bond and is available with the same grooving options as standard 60 duro lagging, providing belt traction and resistance in adverse applications. Pulleys also come equipped with red wear indicators to provide operators with a visual alert when wear is reaching a critical mass.
All features serve to support a lower cost of production through both durability and extended replacement intervals.
